Your Training Year

Our training offers you practical experience and personalised support.  You teach and train daily in schools for a full academic year and attend centre based training sessions at your local hub venue.

There are certain elements of your teaching and training programme each week that are mandatory – these are the core, minimum things you have to achieve and do in order to meet the Teachers’ Standards and gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

You’ll keep a record of your focused teaching, training, observations, tutorials and other study opportunities and make notes about what you observed, discussed or learned at each. You’ll also write up the impact of some of these as reflective journal entries during the year.

The following table gives you an idea of what your weeks will be like during each of the three terms.
